Tufty's Adventures
Published by RoSPA who can be contacted on:  0121 248 2233 or by email:  sales@rospa.com

Following the enormous success of Too Much Punch For Judy, RoSPA approached me to write the final book in the 1993 Tufty re-launch. This was amazing for me as I had been brought up on Tufty in my weekly childhood comic Treasure. My wife co-wrote the stories with me. One of the funniest things was that we were given detailed back stories for all the various characters - "Mrs Squirrel, aged 26. Married in a stable relationship for 6 years. Small and comfortable in stature. Likes casual clothes etc." All quite random... especially when you consider this is a squirrel!!!

The success of the book led to a comic which ran for nearly a year. I think in all we wrote over 20 new Tufty stories. It was all great fun and when I flick through this book it brings back many memories of that time in our lives.

Although we had tight guidelines for each of the stories many were based on incidents that had happened to our family. Tufty was Ollie and naughty little James was Charlie in our eyes... this was all before Daisy was born... so it became a very personal set of stories in many ways!

This book features my own favourite Tufty story - Rob and the Frightened Dinosaur, which is depicted on the cover!

I am very proud of my association with Tufty and am pleased to say that there are still a few books left in the RoSPA vaults.

Wacky Soap
Published by dbda.  Pin Point, 1-2 Rosslyn Crescent, Harrow. HA1 2SB Tel: 0870 333 7771 or email info@dbda.co.uk

Wacky Soap is now available as an illustrated storybook and is suitable as a reader for any age. It will provide a good laugh as a bed time story!

The illustrations by Geoffrey Greiggs are fantastic as can be seen by the cover illustration reproduced here with kind permission of dbda.

Wacky Soap is a set in the fictional Bower of Bliss. The King of the Bower of Bliss wants his subjects to be jolly. He works for years and invents Wacky Soap. Washing with Wacky Soap initially brings happiness (and a wacky ability to present amazing elephant impressions). However those who use the soap soon discover that if they use it for too long it washes limbs away and ultimately leads to complete people completely disappearing! When the King’s daughter the Princess Symbol also disappears he has to do something...

The storybook is a wonderful accompaniment to the play and will offer many ideas for costumes and settings if you plan to produce the Musical.
